Research Question #3 What are the effects of Hurricane Katrina?

In south florida and cuba was fourteen inches of rainfall, More than 1 million people were left without electricity. The damage in florida was from $1-2 billion coming from flooding and overturned trees. In louisiana when the storm hit it was a category 3 hurricane, and had just weakened from four. 8-10 inches of rainfall, and 900,000 people lost electricity. New orleans had 6 deaths from various reasons, Most of new orleans was flooded. In Mississippi they had 67 people missing, 238 people dead and billions of dollars in damage.Storms brought rainfall with 8-10 inches. From all the hurricanes in the u.s hurricane katrina was ranked #1 in damge it had 81 billion dollars of damage.
